My Bio
I was trained as a marine biologist who specialised in hard coral taxonomy. I became a science teacher for three years, before getting kicked out and landing hard on my shebs. Things started going downhill from there. I started up and closed down a couple of businesses, my marriage was effectively terminated and hopped from job to job.
I am now Artistic Director and Chief Monster Maker of Sanctumania Studios who designs and builds costumes and props, mainly armor. I am in the Malaysia Book of Records for being the first Malaysian to become a member of the Mandalorian Mercs Costuming Club, an international Star Wars fan-based costume club.
I've completed my third solo costumes exhibition, Resurrection III, at the Museum & Galeri Tuanku Fauziah, USM Penang in 2009, and was also involved in the Malaysian Contemporary Art Tourism campaigns in Penang in 2010 and 2011. I was nominated in the Signature Art Prize in Singapore in 2011.

I've been costuming for nearly 20 years now. It may seem like a long time, but I feel that I'm only at the beginning of my "tour of duty". I've always been looking for meaning behind what I have been doing. Costuming is a really neat hobby where you can meet all sorts of people and exchange ideas or ogle over their excellent costumes. Some people have heard of this, and I knew about it some time ago. There will be a new Predator movie coming out this July. This film is the brainchild of film maker Robert Rodriguez (Desparado, From Dusk Till Dawn trilogy). It is being directed by Nimrod Antal (Vacancy, Armored)and stars (among others) Adrien Brody, Alice Braga and Laurence Fishbourne.

I'm interested in your Saya's sword/katana since it uses cardboard. Could you briefly describe how you made it? I think a tutorial would be pretty awesome as well ^^
